FLU SEASON RUNS THROUGH APRIL

There’s still time to get a flu shot! Flu season runs through April, so there is still time to get a seasonal or H1N1 flu shot if you have not done so already.

People who are more likely to have health problems from seasonal or H1N1 flu should get a shot this year. This includes:

  • Children age 6 months to 18 years old (Up to 24 years old for the H1N1 flu shot).
  • People age 65 and older (seasonal flu shot only).
  • Pregnant women.
  • People with certain medical conditions.
  • People who live in a nursing home or long-term care facility.
  • Parents, babysitters, and caregivers for infants less than 6 months old.
  • Health care workers.
  • Anyone who wants to protect themselves from seasonal or H1N1 flu.

The seasonal flu shot and the H1N1 flu shot are two different shots. If you think you or your child should get a seasonal or H1N1 flu shot, talk to your or your child’s doctor. He or she can tell you if the seasonal or H1N1 flu shot is right for you or your child and answer any questions you may have.
