It is important that women have regular tests for cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is the easiest female cancer to prevent, because there is a vaccine and a screening test available. It is highly curable when found and treated early.

All women are at risk for cervical cancer. It occurs most often in women age 30 years and older. The risk for cervical cancer increases with age.

Women should have regular Pap smears and pelvic exams to check the cells of the cervix for abnormalities. Talk to your doctor about a screening schedule that is right for you.
